Terms of Service

Effective June 8, 2026

Agreement

By creating an account or using Votedar at votedar.com or through our iOS app (com.votedar.app), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Votedar is

Votedar is a non-partisan voter information tool. We help you understand your election cycle, ballot races, registration steps, primary rules, and voting options using plain language and links to official state and federal resources.

Votedar is not a government agency, election office, or ballot-marking system. We do not cast votes, register voters with your state on your behalf, or provide legal advice.

Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep your profile reasonably up to date.
  • One person, one account. We use identity checks at signup to reduce duplicate accounts. You may not create multiple accounts for the same person.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account.
  • You must be eligible to use the service under applicable law in your jurisdiction.

Information accuracy

Election rules, dates, districts, and ballot content change by state and cycle. Votedar combines computed timelines, public data (such as FEC filings), and estimates (such as ZIP-to-district mappings) to help you prepare. Always confirm registration status, deadlines, polling locations, and ballot content with your state or local election authority before you vote.

Registration status and party affiliation in your profile are self-reported unless otherwise stated. Official voter file results from state websites are not imported into Votedar automatically.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Votedar for unlawful, harassing, or misleading purposes.
  • Attempt to bypass duplicate-account or security controls.
  • Scrape, overload, or interfere with the service or its APIs.
  • Misrepresent Votedar as an official government service.

Email reminders

If enabled on our servers, Votedar may send election-phase reminder emails to the address on your account. You can dismiss reminders in the dashboard. Message frequency depends on your election timeline and due dates.

Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VOTEDAR DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON INFORMATION SHOWN IN THE APP, INCLUDING MISSED DEADLINES OR INCORRECT DISTRICT OR BALLOT ASSUMPTIONS.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or modify features. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose integrity or security risk.
